Community Event this Saturday
KC Tenants is building a citywide tenant union! It can feel inevitable that Trinity’s neighborhood will continue to gentrify, as more and more poor and working class tenants are displaced by large developments. It can feel inevitable that other neighborhoods in Kansas City will suffer the same fate. But organizing is about changing the conditions of what is possible. A citywide tenant union is how we make OUR dreams the inevitable outcomes!
Trinity is partnering with KC Tenants as they launch their citywide tenant union network this Saturday, May 7, at 11:30am in Trinity’s parking lot. You’ll hear stories from tenants who have organized unions and details on how everyone in the city can get involved. You’ll also see performances by the Salvation Choir, a Congolese rumba band in Northeast KC, and the Center High School Marching Yellow Jackets! Afterward, a group of participants will go out and knock on doors to invite tenants into the citywide tenant union network.
Trinity has committed to turning out 25 people to the event!
Can you make it? RSVP below so we’ll know if we’ve met our goal.
Our Justice Task Force partners with organizations across KC to work for justice.
