Gilmore’s Monday Meal

Every Monday | at Trinity
Prep: 10:30-11:30am, Lunch Service: noon-1pm
In 1985, three women from Trinity began serving a weekly community meal on Mondays to the homeless and needy in the neighborhood. In 1987, Earl and Beverly Gilmore took over this ministry and formed the Health & Welfare Committee. They continued this ministry with the help of other volunteers until Beverly’s health required her to move to a nursing facility. After Beverly’s death, Earl turned this ministry over to other Trinity members. The community meal was renamed the Gilmore Monday Lunch to honor their many years of service. And so, after 35 years, this ministry continues today. In 2020, we served over 2,000 meals. We are fortunate to be able to purchase much of our food from Harvesters, and we receive donations of bread and desserts from Costco. This ministry would not be possible without a dedicated and faithful group of volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome!
